Ok, so what is Mindfulness?

In the last several years, Mindfulness has become a hot topic. Everyone’s talking and writing about it. But, what exactly is it . . . and why does it matter?

Mindfulness is a present moment, non-judgmental awareness, paying attention to what’s going on in the present moment without judging it as good or bad.

just observing the present moment
experiencing it
without judging it as something good
without judging it as something bad
just observing

Just being in tune with the present moment
seeing a bee on a flower, and just seeing the colors
and hearing the buzzing

Mindfulness is the practice of being with the present moment — experiencing it fully and accepting it as it is. We can actually experience mindfulness in any one of our senses.

It’s taking a breath, and just being aware of the sensations of our breath. It’s being aware of our mental activities — thoughts, feelings, sensations. It’s constantly being in touch with the vibrancy of life and living each moment to the fullest.

So Mindfulness is very simple.
But it’s not easy.
