Top 3 Essential Qualities to Hone & Develop for Entrepreneurial Success✨
By Jenna D'Annunzio
I was asked the other day during a magazine interview what I thought were the top three most important qualities to develop. They were talking in general, but I realized that ultimately these qualities aren’t just for a happier, healthier, more successful life but one that integrates all of the roles we play, including the entrepreneurial journey.
1. Grit & Resiliency – vital qualities for entrepreneurship. It takes a combination of passion and perseverance, with the ability to withstand, recover, and grow in the face of stressors, challenges, and adversity. It is a choice not to fall prey to the fixed mindset and energize all the reasons something can’t or won’t work out. Rather, choosing to lean into a growth mindset creates a resilience that allows us to stay focused and determined to bounce back from failures, setbacks and/or barriers to happiness and success. For many years, out of survival, I held on to a state of resilience, however by choice, every day I choose to stay as focused as possible on being the very best version of myself by creating favorable conditions for success in ALL areas of my life. The entrepreneurial journey, though it can often feel lonely, doesn’t have to be. Find your tribe and hold on tight. Collaborating with like-minded individuals only allows us to grow and evolve in ways we never thought possible. Setbacks are inevitable AND choosing to see opportunities over obstacles is critical. This journey is one of constant learning, evaluating and assessing what’s working and what’s not, while keeping the purpose of your business close to your heart, driving you forward.
2. Stay Curious – entrepreneurs take risks. It’s vital for our success. But with risks comes many unknowns, uncertainties, inevitable setbacks and failures. The Law of Awareness states that we don’t know what we don’t know, however, by shifting our discontent from inevitable challenges to curiosity, we give ourselves the ability to stay in the creative stream of consciousness where possibilities are endless. Our default mode network wants to get bogged down by the shoulda, woulda, couldas. It takes discipline, choice and curiosity to tap into the task positive network where we shift our thought patterns from this isn’t happening TO me to this is happening FOR me, therefore…how can I create favorable conditions for success? Don’t should all over yourself and stay curious my friends!
3. Adaptability – Think of adaptability as a superpower that supports you in navigating the ever-changing business landscape and thrive amidst uncertainty. The only certain thing is that everything is uncertain. Due to emerging technology and AI, the world is changing faster than ever before. As a business owner, what got you where you are today won’t get you where you want to go. This takes a consistent new level of skills and adaptability to the changing external factors around us. We can either accept or reject the reality of what is, and I strongly invite you all to lean into acceptance, it’s much more useful in the growth and evolution of your life and business.
Looking for support in navigating these qualities – I got you.
